do authors nowadays think rape and imprisonment a norm? do they think their main audiences are perverts who enjoy gruesome kinks to the point that they have to put these kind of things inside a story? there are tons of scenarios or plot devices the author could use. even using the most boring way which is deux ex machina plot devices would be miles better than whatever this is
