As someone who was like Il-woo with a suicidal urge for years, I switched up quickly once I discovered my love for reading which left me too attached to let go. Same goes for his love....he'd do anything for him even something as painful and revolting as living.

he will have his friends jump Il-woo and threathen Baekhee w blackmail and violence and Baekhee with all the guilt and sorrow he has, it'll be a horror movie come to life, seeing Il-woo in that state and leave with Gyeom for his sake (not to mention the threat of his dad)
maybe Gyeom would be pissed enough to physically hurt Baekhee and drag him to Seoul leaving an also beaten Il-woo alone
Maybe Gyeom would even reveal that Baekhee's dad killed Il-woo's ??? IDK I doubt that'd happen but maybe
it would be a intense painful blow for them both
