I hate the mindset of these lead characters where they think that they should feel guilty and take responsibility for another person's feelings towards them, whether they themselves like that person or not. And the other person takes advantage of said guilty feelings, hoping he has a chance. Inserting themselves into a relationship where it's crystal clear that the lead characters like each other. Just because one of the LCs is why about their feelings. Thats how you lead someone on.
*shy about their feelings. That's how you lead someone on. That's how you create misunderstandings, and that's how you inadvertently let an outside party ruin your relationship.
