Guys in the story it would look like Akane seems more likely to be a female lead, while Kana is a second female lead. Well, while I'm contemplating, it's just Aqua stating how happy he had been when he met Akane and so on and on, giving her this reassurance while treating Kana like air who just happened to be there when he needed to escape the reality a little bit. Because Kana doesn't know his revenge thing he's two-timing, for fuck sake! When Aqua and Akane got officially dating for real and not just for work, you could see he was a little bit loose and content, thinking he didn't need to get revenge and could just live however he wished because the person he wanted to kill had apparently been dead for years, and he left Kana, reflecting his trauma about Ai into her. Well, she's not her! And while thinking it would make Kana safer, just be honest, you don't actually like her because, dude, wtf? 'If I were Kana and you decided to protect me and ghost me not even talking to me I don't need your protection while you're in with another woman doing happy little dating thing Like, what am I supposed to feel grateful for? Probably I would leave the group. Yeah, I would not take responsibility when the reason why I chose to become an idol is because of you, and you would ghost. E for nearly 6 months. Like, fuck, communication doesn't exist, bro' Literally, Kana isolated herself and became sad. Even though eventually all is good after that, it didn't feel like Aqua actually worried about her, like maybe because Kana has a strong fortitude mentality. Idk, maybe it's because Kana doesn't need him, so that's why he doesn't need to worry about her future and worry about her. She knows she would overcome it when he dies. Huhuhu, idk!

No amount of rewatching is gonna numb that sadness unfortuntely
As a Kana fan, she deserves better esp knowing how that manga ends. Prob one of my fav female characs in media and unfortunately, it's sad to see her get sidelined after having such a good arc
