Not trying to say that the writing isn't lazy, but pretty sure the mom couldn't handle the abuse anymore and so they ran off. But because the mom had divine powers, they were then chased, until ig the mom realized they couldn't run away any longer. Maybe she assumed that since she's small, she could easily hide? Honestly, I thought she used herself as a distraction and ran off to a totally different direction to fool them, but it's kinda stupid for her to just give away her life and power to her child, when there's no guarantee the child could escape.... Not only that, literally did it as they were hiding in some bushes. Ig she just rlly wanted her child to survive carrying their bloodline, not rlly caring enough that because of those very powers, she would be hunted for the rest of her life. Ofc this is just a manhwa and the child is the mc, so it all worked out at the end lol cuz she wouldn't be protected and cared for if she's just a normal beast child they found. She'd prolly be a maid.
I am pretty sure the novel conveys the situation better and how the mother's sacrifice is worthwhile. The manga is skipping most of the explanations and emotional decision making that brings the characters to life ╥﹏╥
It comes off as cute but the writing seems lazy. What kind of mother takes her out into the wild, hands her weak kid something that the hyenas really want thus ensuring she will be hunted for the rest of her life then just turns to freaking dust? If you're going to sacrifice yourself at least make sure your kid is somewhere safe first.
