Guwon was the only reason the town was safe, quite literally. It was an apocalypse waiting to unfold and we saw it coming. making different choices will definitely change some things, but if the bodies at the bottom of the hill are any clue, they’ve done this whole thing dozens of times and none of them have worked out yet. i am pretty sure guwon remembers every timeline, but he’s been through the motions enough to not react with surprise. My theory is that he’s been trying to learn how to navigate this world and making slightly different choices every time to see if that helps. now we just need to figure out how teach configures into all of this.
