One thing that weirds me out about this story is that the start of the first chapter is so close to part of an episode of the Japanese TV show“Scam” that it’s like Deja Vu. I can’t imagine the author didn’t see it (and that it didn’t inspire the entire series to a degree), but I worry because it’s so close I think the author could legit be sued if the TV production company got wind of this series. I wonder if the author has ever directly referenced or credited it as an inspiration for the series. I don’t know if they would be sued successfully, but the resemblance is more than passing.
