I let this marinate for 2 years

I’m saying this out of my love for this manwha, but the chapters after chapter 70 to the latest chapters were frustrating.

I’m so confused how the writing got progressively poor when the premise was already so good. It’s like they changed the writer with how jarring the plot became.

There were misunderstandings that were never fully adressed. It’s almost a cycle of miscommunication and until one snaps and the situation calms down but the problem wasn’t really “solved”

There were more monologues than them actually saying the thought. Leading to the miscommunications and sadly, the dragging of the plot.

Everything was compressed into the last chapters after all the previous dragging of the story. So the ending felt lackluster?
It would have been nice if sangwoo questioning his identity and his feelings towards Jaeyung was explored even just little by little in the earlier chapters instead of compressing everything on last few chapters. It just makes it feel that he never tried to really sit down to address his issues.
I’m also frustrated that the writers didn’t utilize Ryu’s character for this, early on. Instead of Sangwoo internalizing every single thing, Ryu being there early on would have been so helpful. It would also establish their relationship that they really are good friends. And Ryu’s out of the box thinking would have challenged sangwoo’s more rigid thinking on romance. And Sangwoo would have come to a conclusion sooner. It did happen but why wait until the story is almost done? It’s like her character was just set aside.

There were things that weren’t fully addressed. Jaeyung choosing to stay instead of moving to America wasn’t even the problem. It was the fact that it wasn’t treated as important when the plot was set up. Had the previous chapters addressed him revealing truth, and the confession, the pacing wouldn’t feel as rushed as we read the ending.

They also set up family characters that were never explored. Not yet at least? But what happened after they got into a relationship? It was being set up how dangerous the grandfather could be if Jaeyung step out of his lane and their relationship gets found out. Or what had happened when jaeyung decided to stay. Consequences not being felt with the bonus chapters. It would have been a crucial plot point to the main story.

Also what happened to jaeyung after the timeskip? Him being absolutely “inconsiderate” maybe is the word or “insensitive” with sangwoo’s effort.
It was already set up before how Jaeyung in earlier season would have been sensitive enough to notice immediately what sangwoo was trying to do. He already knows how his pacing in relationship is different from sangwoo. He would have been more aware or just let Sangwoo do his thing in his way. But instead, he was reduced to an archetype of being all horny and downright rude after sangwoo gave him the ring.

This is one of my favorite manwhas and I absolutely loved their dynamic and relationship development. And one of my favorite enemies to lovers trope characters. And don’t get me talking about how i relate to sangwoo and him walkin around being undiagnosed autistic lol. Ig that’s why it’s frustrating to see the characters be portrayed this way in the bonus chapters.

It’s good that i let this marinate or else I would have lost my shit with the story being dragged every time the chapters were dropped lol
