I tried this again after so long to get the full picture after reading "Sparkling Baby". I'm not as bad with angst as I was with this one. I really disliked Jaeha. And I neither liked nor disliked Eunho. The side characters were the only likable ones like- Hyesun (Jaeha's wife), Hanjoon (friend), Sookyung (colleague), and Eunho's perceptive friend. The last few chapters were okay. I did like the character growth. But I don't feel proud of them.
It was diabolical how he edged Eunho to sleep with him to prove his feelings. If you really think of someone as family with whom you never imagined a romantic relationship with, you'd never suggest that. That's the moment you know that Jaeha was just in denial. Seems like he's the type of person who doesn't really understand his own emotions. He freezes up, makes stupid mistakes and runs away. Rationalizing his actions to save himself. And he takes a really long time to own up his mistakes.
Welp, at least he could finally see that he wasn't truly alone, that he had people who cared for him but his closed off nature hurt them. It made me so mad when he said that he was used to people leaving him when he was the one who hurt them. It was already too late but he still got a chance to make things right and this time he grabbed it. Good for him. Eunho has the patience of a saint to cry for him and forgive him so soon. Fools made for each other.
Overall, it was very human like so I don't totally dislike the story. But I don't like the main characters. Sparkling Baby had a similar angsty progression since Hanjoon is somewhat similar to Jaeha but he's more mature so the story was more interesting. Yujin's character was also good which made me stick around. It almost feels like an insult that these two stories have the same rating.
