I don’t think it’s that, especially with the „he might not just be suffering” part. We saw he really needed someone in his life and he was manipulated and groomed from the start. Can you really call it love? He is begging for attention and he thinks he deserves to get it this way, to be abused BOTH physically and mentally. That’s not love, that is more like Stockholm syndrome, he is incredibly afraid that he will become no one once this relationship is over. How is Gyol helping him? He is not at all. All he does is FUCK HIM when he is clearly distressed. Where is love in this? For me it’s just two fucker using a very vulnerable young man who is seeking help but doesn’t know how to. He’s not in love with anyone because he is trapped and he’s sexual desires stems from the years of abuse he suffered. That is no plot twist, it was literally consistent through the story. He needs therapy not sex from a hot headed man who cannot focus on his needs. You cannot undo years of abuse by whatever Gyol is doing.
Listen, that’s actually quite a significant plot twist, when you think about it. It never even crossed any of our minds that the guy might actually be in love with his stepfather. Obviously, it’s all abuse, manipulation, gaslighting—that sort of thing. It’s definitely total psychological control, coupled with the fear of no longer being a cherished plaything. But for some reason, no one ever considered that he might not just be suffering in this situation.
