So, my overall review is that I really liked the story, especially its melancholic atmosphere and the mysterious, calm personality of the female lead. I love a female character who isn’t easily swayed just because a good-looking guy shows interest in her, and I really liked that about her in the beginning.
I also loved the male lead’s personality. I loved how he was so clearly yearning for her and actively pursuing her. There’s something I really enjoy about a male lead who knows what he wants and isn’t afraid to showit.
However, there were quite a few things in the storyline that didn’t really make sense to me.
First of all, I’m not sure if I missed something, but was the female lead’s scar ever explained? She mentioned that her tattoo was meant to cover it up, but I don’t remember the story explaining how she got the scar. Was it related to the incident where she fell into the water? If so, I wish that had been addressed more clearly because it felt like an important detail that was just brushed aside.
Another thing I found unrealistic was her relationship with her mother. It’s clear that she loves her mother, but there’s also a lot of insecurity and pain there because she feels that her mother doesn’t love her as much as she would like. Given that dynamic, I found it strange how comfortable she seemed with the male lead suddenly spending time with her mother, making her laugh and seemingly knowing more about her than her own daughter did.
There were several moments when the female lead noticed how much her mother had shared with him, yet she never really seemed bothered by it. Honestly, if I were in her position, I would feel at least a little uncomfortable or even jealous. Having a random guy suddenly develop such a close relationship with your mother, especially when you already have a complicated and painful relationship with her, would surely bring up some feelings. I found it difficult to believe that she was so accepting of the situation.
I also felt that she viewed the male lead through rose-coloured glasses at first. Considering the trauma she had experienced and the emotional pain surrounding her relationship with her mother, I would have expected her to be a little more guarded. Instead, her attitude towards him sometimes felt unrealistic to me.
Another thing that frustrated me was how rarely she stood up for herself. Especially after deciding to leave her ex, I expected her to become more assertive and confident in her decisions. Yet, when the male lead made comments suggesting that she was her ex is still her boyfriend, she didn’t even properly correct him or stand up for herself. Those moments genuinely irritated me because I wanted her to speak up and defend herself.
I really liked her personality at the beginning, so I was hoping to see more character development as the story progressed. I wanted her to develop a stronger backbone and become more confident in expressing herself. Instead, she often came across as quite meek, which was disappointing because I felt she had the potential to be a much stronger character.
The ending also felt a little rushed to me. The male lead left for two years, and then what? She simply waited for him? I understand that she continued working and living her life during that time, but two years is a long time. It would have felt more realistic if she had experienced more emotional struggles during his absence, perhaps even tried to move on or questioned whether waiting for him was the right decision. I just found it difficult to believe that she would wait for two years without more conflict or emotional development.
And what happened to her brother? He was barely addressed, and at one point, her mother even mentioned that he was dead. Is he actually dead? Is he alive? Did I miss something? I know the story was focused on other things, but I felt that this was another important detail that deserved an explanation.

Overall, I still enjoyed it.
