Ya know if this actually did a good job at showing the emotions and angst, it’d be a solid 9/10, but because the execution is so poor it’s a 5. It started out good, but then they rush the angst parts and drag out certain conflicts instead of expounding on them. Could be the art style but it’s more the pacing than anything. Stuff gets revealed too easily, and although I feel that Erin loves the prince, we dont get a good enough writing in the way he falls in love with her. Not to say the reasoning isn’t good or doesn’t make sense, it’s the execution itself that ruins it. Plus, unfortunately, this artist definitely can’t draw fight scenes, which in assuming is why some stuff feels rushed or off, since in the novel it was probably pretty well described. There’s also this whole her getting over her trauma a little too easily honestly, like she promised she wouldn’t ever get involved with him and yet she immediately goes and actively does shit that contradicts her promise???? If it was later in the manhwa and not literally later in the same chapter I probably wouldn’t have that much of an issue with it. Also, it isn’t just Erin it’s freaking Ferdin and some of the other characters too (looking at you Ilya you fucking brat). I can’t even feel sympathy for her anymore because of how shit the pacing and expressions are. Like only reason I’m continuing is to see that bitch Cordelia’s face sink into despair and that trash prince get his balls cut plus emperor getting taken down. All of that would be great and is the only reason I’m holding on.
