I know some might kill me for saying that lolz. I really like the story, characters and plot and it actually has a novel (in korean) no eng translation yet but some say the manhwa was fast paced and the novel explain sayan a little better. The ending in the novel is actually an open ending its up for the reader to decide whether sayan died or not. I really hope someday the novel will get translated . Now the story in the manhwa, for me its kinda half non-conish in a way because they did have a contract/deal and Ilic definitely know what's the duke is doing to him. But every time they sleep together Ilic felt disgusted or like he just doesn't want to admit to himself that it feels good. (At the end of the day it was still noncon not justifying it. The author (potion) really likes to create manhwas with noncon in it ://). Now we know sayan is sick in the head, he was not a really great guy to begin with. But I like how the fact he fell in love with Ilic KNOWING theres no chance (or there is a chance??) of him loving him back because of the things he'd done to him. Sayan did change for Ilic tho, he was less forceful than before and became more sweeter to Ilic (which ilic hates lolzzz) tho possessive. We can see that in the side chapters Ilic was slowly starting to accept the pleasure with sayan (I will sold my soul to the devil just to see ilic riding sayan pls) but does not necessarily mean he loves him?? Like for me Ilic feelings is between hate or love really. I like that Ilic is still aware of what sayan has done to him, and I think that whats keeping him from actually loving him. I agree to the comment that Ilic was just tolerating sayan and I think he might have developed stockholm syndrome or something like even when sayan looks like he's dying he doesn't want to leave him. (Probably bc he already spent half of his life with him, he also stated that even if he was free what can he even do like he's old he cant even remarry anymore lolz.) I cant say they're perfect for each other but I love their dynamic. I will die for this couple and when the novel finally gets translated I hope we can understand about them more
