Borderline will be going on a three-month hiatus starting November 19, 2026.
Official statement from Danrim:
I am writing regarding this hiatus.
Since resuming serialization, we have continued to receive feedback from readers noting that the artwork has changed in a negative direction. As I was working by referring to the manuscripts from the previous season, I hadn't anticipated any unintended changes, and in fact, even now, I personally can't detect them with my own eyes. As a result, I reluctantly requested more detailed artwork feedback from the PD, and relying on that, I have strived for improvement by meticulously revising as much as the given time and my abilities allow.
In addition to this extra process, visual impairments have made it difficult to feel confident in the quality of the artwork, causing the work time to extend far beyond what was planned. I put my best effort into improving the artwork, but I ultimately failed to address readers' regrets regarding the artwork quality. In the process, I neglected my health management, leading to overwork that severely worsened my chronic condition, and I have now reached a point where continuing serialization like this is untenable.
This is my oversight. Knowing how long everyone has waited, I stubbornly pushed through excessive work in hopes of avoiding a hiatus at all costs, but in the end, I must deliver this hiatus news, which weighs heavily on my heart. I will do my utmost to recover my health and return to you in a healthier state, with more stable artwork.
I am deeply sorry for disappointing the readers who have always encouraged me.
Best regards,
Danrim
P.S. I am currently struggling with proofreading. As such, there may be grammatical errors or awkward phrasing mixed in—please kindly forgive any oversights.
