Review: This manhwa has a plot similar to many other regression stories, with only a few unique differences. It was actually good at first, but then it felt like the author had a change of heart and started portraying the SML as being in the right in certain ways. (This is based solely on the manhwa, with no consideration of the novel.) At one point, I even started thinking that if he were the ML, the story would probably have ended the same way as many other stories, with him and the FL ending up together. However, since he wasn't the ML, things turned out differently. Unfortunately, this also took away much of the ML's charm for me. I was really into him at first, but after that, he became just so-so.
Another thing that made me lose interest was how the author portrayed the FL as capable and intelligent, yet kept having her misunderstand things and make questionable decisions on her own. It got frustrating after a while, and I honestly lost interest in the story. I only stuck around until the end so I could finally add it to my completed list.
As for the overall development, it's so-so. The pacing was fine, and the art reminded me of My Gently Raised Beast. I'm not sure if they have the same artist or if it's just a similar art style.
Would I recommend this? Probably. If you haven't read many regression stories or manhwas like What It Means to Be You, you might enjoy this one. The SML here has some similarities to the characters in those kinds of stories, so I think your enjoyment will depend on how you feel about that type of character.
If you're looking for a revenge story, though, it's a 50/50 for me. The premise initially makes the revenge seem like it's going to be a huge deal, but as the story progresses, the impact doesn't quite live up to the buildup. It's like watching a storm gather on the horizon, only for it to turn out to be little more than a passing drizzle. By the time things start coming together, the emotional payoff just isn't as satisfying as I expected. The whole thing felt a bit forced, and whatever impact the story could have had was lost along the way.
Well, these are just my personal opinions, so feel free to give it a try if you have nothing else to read!
