usually with official english translations publishers will alter the names for the sake of the audience or their preference or the authors decision. but i def do agree they shouldve just used the pinyin version of the chars actual names

Is this originally Chinese? If so, why change their Chinese names? It feels weird to pronounce their names.
And what my brain did was rename each character with the Chinese names that I knew.. QAQ
