iirc (I’m also kinda new to guideverse), all espers and guides are divided into different levels. Normally an esper would be paired with a guide of a similar level, Adam, however, is kinda low level (B-level, I think?). To still be able to provide adequate guiding, he can take inducers that can artificially raise his ability to guide espers (or something like that). However, these inducers also have some nasty side effects if used too much, I think they can even lead to death, which is why Eve hates when Adam uses them.
