I think both are realistic. She has been abused all her life and it’s still kinda hard to fully trust someone. But hey, she has been taking those steps to open up to the duke. It’s a long journey. PLUS with or without the duke, she would always try to survive. The duke however, is a really logical person. He’s very caring despite his nonchalant demeanor. I think it’s just a bad matchup for a wounded person to be with a nonchalant higher rank partner. But look at them! They’re taking those steps to be closer to each other. I genuinely think the pacing is really good too. So let’s place ourselves in their shoes. They havent even confessed and they havent talked abt the whole marriage contract/agreeement after this whole ordeal. She’s still scared that her family is still put thwre to freaking kill her. If you think she’s a fool, you are insane, have some little empathy. If you think ML is an ass, idk what to say man..are we reading the same story??
