A good author should see the ending before the end like, how is the stories supposed to progress? If you don’t even know the ending of your own story? Plus they should never make illustrations of something that’s not finished either. Let’s not have a Game of Thrones issue up in here. That’s how you end up with some convoluted bullshit. Then everybody hates it. Then you either get canceled or have a rushed ending.
