I think the creator (they did both arts&story) focused on smut scenes too much. The character development is very slow, the backstory has small parts in the story, even tho it should be put more scenes than this. Mintae (uke) appears to be cheerful and he is just a rich nepo baby who stays ignorant. When I read till 40ish chapters and saw the backstory what happened when Mintae was a kid, I realized that this manhwa actually carries heavy topics more than we notice (apart from abusive Sung’s father). Mintae had been emotional neglected by his parent. His mother decided to bring Heetae (uke’s adoptive younger brother) to the house. His parent made them hating each other, when Mintae’s mother showed affection toward Heetae in front of everyone. Heetae showed up as a villain, it looks like he’s obsessed with the company, but actually he wants to work and gets along with Mintae, which I think Heetae wants to get close to his brother (even tho it doesn’t look that way). It’s actually sad that Heetae was just a tool, not only Mintae had grown up lacking love and affection, but also Heetae was a victim as well. Mintae has repeatedly thought many times that he wants to be free from his family’s influence, while Heetae wants to work and secure the company. Both of them have been finding their own way of proving their worth and recognition. They want to be loved and appreciated from people who truly see them as who they are. The creator gives a hint that Heetae’s secretary/ assistant will be his support/ or a future lover who will stay by his side. The plot isn’t that too bad, but the way that the creator portraits and unfolds the story is quite boring. I mean the air-time of character development is too short. Even for Sung’s case doesn’t impact that much (when he decides to join a gambling therapy session). Everyone in this story is annoying and behaves like an asshole at some point. That’s why readers dropped it half-way. I just hope that Mintae and Heetae could make up, even if they aren’t related by blood, they are still family. They could support each other without bringing another down. But sadly the creator puts Heetae’s role as a bad guy, his character is interesting and has potential to develop. I think he is interesting more than Mintae (the mc). Because he has been growing up as a back-up plan as Mintae’s rival, he doesn’t have anyone who just love him as he is. That’s why he has worked hard for gaining love and affection from Mintae’s parent. While in the current timeline, he wants to be a chairman to prove his worth and recognition, and he wants Mintae’s supporting him. It actually sounds very lonely and exhausting.#-.-) Well, this is just my personal thought, but I get why everyone doesn’t like it and decides to drop.
