It's funny lately I've been thinking about my late grandmother more and more now that I'm on my own. After much discourage from the world and my mother, I've decided to pursue an Art degree and hopefully an art career. I'm still making paintings using some of the paints and brushes my grandma got for me in middle school. I love burning sandalwood incense in my room because it reminds me of how her house smelled. She always believed in me and encouraged me to go for it, it was in the little things she'd do. We were very close. She was also accepting of my queerness, it didn't matter to her, I was still just me. I miss her very much. This story hits incredibly hard. I loved it. Bless the sweet grandmothers of the world.
