I feel like everything we've build up at this point was lost in vain. I genuinely don't feel any excitement when reading it anymore. Its not just because im a kill joy or im losing my mind over the rape, well technically i am bothered by it of course I hate it. I am also bothered with how Aaron's character direction is going—i was hoping in some way maybe his old self is still there.
Why do I never find characters that atleast hear out the other character's side when they escape/leave? When they find them it always results to physical harm and assault, even rape. Its as if they deserve it because they left with no word. Wouldn't an explanation or understanding matter first, and even communication...! Locking him and chaining him? When did that become the norm?! Its honestly frustrating to see it happen so commonly nowadays. Can we get some creativity here.. "Don't read it if you don't like it" its not a matter of it having its own genre of things, its that the contrast between events from before have a contradiction to where the story is currently leading us. Its the same soup in different bowls. Bland and boring.
Thats just me tho, you are entitled to your own opinion regarding where this story is leading us
