In this story, the drug trade follows: Royal Raider Casino of Ross is the legal front Mercifuls — where Jake works — handle mid‑tier distribution Mass - provides enforcement and street sales.
Story started off as Jake- a gang member meets Shin - a street mechanic, not fully trusting each other so they hide identity only to fully fall and be obsessed with each other.
Shin messes Jake's car, but Jake found out his scam, leading Shin to offer sexual favors; thought it's a one-time thing, but Jake has other plans.
Jake contacted Shin to pick him up in one Jakes's illegal dealings. Although Shin did that job, he said he can't do this job because he doesn't kill people and he's now worried that his face was exposed. And he was right, because this move from Jake is the catalysts of other gangs showing curiosity in Shin. There were two guys that Jake killed on the spot because they ask about who 'his new boy' is... Then Shin was also abducted, drugged, and almost r@ped. This guy was killed by Jake puta bullet to his hole.
From here on, Jake made a deal for Shin to be his sexual partner and personal mechanic/errand boy/driver. In exchange for 'protection' / powerful friend with benefits and a stable job in a Lump Spark garage.
At this point both Shin and Jake secretly digs information about each other. Because Shin knows Jake is a member of gang but to what extent, he doesn't know.
While working in the garage, Shin meets Wilde from Ross’s casino, ordering cars for the casino gala giveaway. At the gala, Ross took interest in Shin, and ready to bed him. But Jake was there spying, he reveals himself in police disguise to shield Shin from Ross’s advances. Ross dig info about them because he felt off and suspicious of both Shin and Jake. Jake is slowly showing obsession from here as he constantly reminded Shin NOT to sleep with anyone.
Then one day, Shin's long-lost foster brother Gren, showed up.
Hosung, his hacker friend, confirms Gren was just out of prison and works for Mass, which is group within the drug trade. He learns of the delivery night and wanted to save his brother so he drove to Gren's place, but Izmel (we later find out works with Jake,) crashes Shin's car to prevent him from going to his brother pretending a local that would put Shin to a hospital but Shin threatened izmel with a gun.
While this is happening, Jake ambushes Mass’s convoy, destroys the drugs, kills the crew, and stages it as rival violence — leaving one man alive to testify against Ross. He spares Gren for Shin’s sake.
At this point it's obvious that Jake is going outside the plans and is protecting Shin. His 2 plans ross casino and this drug delivery have been compromised for Shin.
That ends Season 1.
Season 2
Jake spared one guy to testify against Ross but spared Gren. It’s a mistake: coz Jake didn't know Gren faked unconsciousness and heard everything, he got terrified the witness will testify and he'll be back in prison again, so he kills the supposed witness.
So instead of getting evidence against Ross, Jake only heated war against the groups in the drug trade.
Jake meets Shin in Gren's apartment then Gren shows up and shoots Jake. Shin lets Gren escape. He stays to help treat Jake's wound in his apartment. This compromises Jake's hideout so he decided to stay with Shin.
In this season, Readers learn the truth: Jake isn’t a gang member, he’s an undercover CIA agent. Caesar is posted at the garage watching the mission, and Shin too. It was also made clear that Jake trailed Shin in the beginning because he thought Shin is a plant or a spy. That's why he searched for Shin's info at first. Overtime, he learned Shin is just a civilian. Note: Shin still believes Jake is gang; the reveal is for the readers.
Bounties are out for Gren, the Mercifuls, Ross, and even Shin are searching for him. Jake stays at Shin’s apartment when his safe house is compromised. Shin doesn’t fully trust him, but knows Gren is safer if he's with Jake; he can monitor his plan somehow.
But then, Ross’s men capture Gren, Jake and Izmel learned about this so they pose as police to intercept, take him, and let him “escape” as live bait. If Ross’s men get him, he’ll be tortured and killed instantly; they need him free to draw Ross out and build evidence.
CIA and Jake plan another bust. This time Jake will pose working for Mass, not Mercifuls (he wore a mask to not be recognized) they met in a junkyard to meet Ross’s crew for the exchange. To his shock, Shin is there too, looking for scrap parts. Mass’s men recognize him as Jake’s boy and assume he’s a Mercifuls spy setting them up. Jake has to save Shin. Mission compromised for the 3rd time because of Shin.
Shin figures it out that Jake isn’t just a gang member — he’s undercover. Upset, they end up back at Shin’s place. Jake says he means no harm and only wants to protect him. Warned that if Shin walks away now, he can’t keep him safe.
Shin chooses to leave anyway.
Season 3,
Gren checks into rehab. Shin resigns from the garage to get away from Jake. Jake is pulled out of the mission for too many missteps. But Ross is still hunting Gren, Shin, and Jake, convinced they were all Mercifuls and he was double‑crossed.
Knowing this, Jake sets up surveillance in Shin’s hotel room. He won’t reach out to him directly, but he watches over his safety.
Hosung also shares proof of Jake’s real identity, to Shin. Which we late found out Jake actually used Hosung to share that info. His way of confessing to Shin.
Gren recovers and meets up with Shin but Ross’s captures them and hold them in a barn. Gren is shot. Shin nearly kills Ross, but Gren talks him down, it’ll only make things worse. They escape, and Shin has no choice but to call Jake for help. There’s nothing they can do: Gren lost too much blood, and a regular hospital would raise too many questions. The barn is burned down and Gren dies.
Jake finally told him the truth from his mouth what his mission is. Shin and Jake reconciled.
CIA chief Rolfe is nearly removed from the operation too. To salvage her standing, she approves one final bust led by Jake. He agrees. Ross has to be taken down completely, or Shin will never be safe. Shin convinces Jake to let him join, to avenge his brother.
The mission succeeds: Ross is captured with solid evidence. Shin and Jake are both shot but Shin in critical condition, but they survive.
Which lead us to Jake confessing his feelings and Shin accepting him fully.
Jake realizing he really changed because of Shin and he's willing to compromise everything for him.... that a lot of missions from the start went wrong because he wanted to protect Shin. Rolfe, Caesar, and Izmel warned him about him about this. The old Jake would’ve walked away, even when Shin got tangled with Ross to save the mission.
Instead, he kept Shin by his side to shield him.
Basically, Jake started to tread carefully between mission and obsession/love, until the line separating the two blurred.
