I just need to rant about it I'll deletethis later but my girlfriend and I are really frustrated. It's Halloween and we just got back from trick or treating with our daughter and it's actually fucking ridiculous how our daughter was being treated. She's special needs and non-speaking, she can't talk at all- even if you try to prompt her, it just doesn't happen. I understand children need to have manners, it's respectful I get that- but my daughter cannot talk. She cannot say 'trick or treat' or 'thankyou', again even if you tried to get her to it just doesn't happen. Some of these people were so fucking demanding of her and wouldn't even give her lollies because she couldn't say anything, it just feels fucking unfair. We ended up cutting trick or treating a little short because my girlfriend was getting frustrated + we could see our daughter was getting really upset because she doesn't understand why she's not getting anything. She's not a spoiled girl, she just knows that Halloween= dressing up, going on a walk, getting lollies. I'm in my car, I need to quickly head to the shops before they close to get some things and perhaps bring her a bag of lollies (of course she won't be eating them all) even though she already has quite a bit from trick of treating- thankfully there were a lot of lovely people willing to talk to her and give her something.
