Chapter one kinda rubs me the wrong way

As an asexual in a marriage with an aromantic asexual chapter one just feels… idk a little uncomfortable? Like maybe it gets better (literally chapter one I know) with more context but. It just seems so dismissive? Of a 7 year relationship? Just because you don’t have sex??? But he calls you his boyfriend and treats you lovingly??? And somehow this isn’t enough? Like just because there isn’t sex, this is somehow leading him on and trapping him?

And I’m guessing that once he becomes an omega that there’s LOTS of sex which. It’s hard to put into words, but again, feels so dismissive of what seems like a perfectly fine relationship??? Idk it’s omegaverse bl so there’s probably a lot of emotional manipulation that will be revealed. But I can’t help but think of my own relationship where we’ve been besties for almost 15 years and married for two and never dated or had sex but it’s still a fulfilling loving relationship.

Like. Obviously given the genre and synopsis I expect sex to be prominent and important, but the way chapter one is written just reminds me of how dismissive people are of non sexual relationships.

Idk just a bit of a rant pls don’t take it too seriously.

The world caters to non asexual and romantic people so the author probably have such viewpoints as it is considered "common sense". Unfortunately asexual and especially aromantic asexual are rare and few. You're considered the lucky few to find someone that understands you the way you are because they are similar (being asexual)

Unfortunately most people would want sex. The moment it dries up or if it is not provided, they will seek someone else that can provide it. So its extremely rare for an asexual person to find a significant others that are not asexual and dont mind not having sex, especially if it asexual are sex repulsive.

I agree that relationship can be more fulfilling beyond just sex and romantic relationships shouldn't require sex to be considered one. But not many see it this way. People rank romantic relationships with sex more important than their platonic friendships :(
