It's more irrational but then again, Daejun was in a bottomless well of despair after Hajin's death, hence why it wasnt hard for him to believe it was Hajin, no matter how irrational it was to think so.
honestly, this makes a lot of sense to me having worked in a psych nursing home for a bit. i actually had a case where two dementia patients didn't even realize they knew each other until after their symptoms started showing up. their mannerisms and little quirks (i think it was how the other pronounced their name?) were what helped them recognize one another. sadly, one of them passed away, so the whole thing was scrapped since the family didn't want to take it any further so as to respect the dead.
