honestly, solid sequel all things considered— EXCEPT that goddamn “if you were single..” line. everything else was good. they were working through adulthood and grappling with security in their relationship, yoshino learned to have more confidence and rou learned how to be more considerate.
the whole thing with niko never bothered me (i could more or less predict how it would go), and truly, rou’s actions with him were obviously made from a place of good intentions. he stayed the night out of pure concern and a sense of responsibility, which i really get esp since he saw the mark on niko’s cheek. if that happened to me, i would suspect abuse and also stay to take care of someone. BUT, it’s 100% valid for yoshino (or anyone) to be concerned and not want their partner to do that. it really depends.
but that one line was stupid as all hell. it’s not malicious, that we can confirm, but it’s just soooo stupid and honestly? it’s kind of out of place considering the rest of the manga AND the established characterizations from the first manga.
imo, this sequel wasn’t super bad. i’d give it a 7 because i generally don’t like sequels where the only plot is jealousy/misunderstandings, but this was cute besides that one line.
