You know what I lowkey highkey started reading this based on the panel of them being freaky in public. I was also skeptical about their past and how the story would progress given that it’s only 40 chapters. However, I am delightfully pleased how this played out. I was laughing so much on how Yihyun wanted to take revenge on Sunwoo but treated him lavishly. I was oh so that’s why it’s called unlockthe comfortable confinement. No, I was very wrong. Though, I did laugh when Yihyun assigned his own psychiatrist to Sunwoo when he diagnosed him with Stockholm Syndrome like what kind of captor think of his captive’s mental well-being. Halfway through, I was wondering how the treatment for Yihyun’s trauma was going to be addressed. I liked how we saw Yihyun’s pov and how it affected him. I felt so bad for both of them because Sunwoo felt powerless bc of the situation he was in and how much Yihyun trusted/resented Sunwoo. Seeing how much Yihyun suffered and his obsession grew worse, I’m surprised he eventually realized he desired Sunwoo. But then again, even deep hatred can develop into love, and I don’t think he actually hated him. I’m really glad that they heal and love each other. Yihyun unintentionally provided an environment for Sunwoo to relax and breathe and Sunwoo personally helping ease Yihyun’s anxiety and “comfort” and basically do what he couldn’t do himself when he was younger. Taking the time to understand the basis of his trauma and taking things slow and gradual, was the best thing for Yihyun to get used to the fact that even though life is “safer” in the cage, it isn’t necessarily healthy.
Also, did the orphanage not suspect anything??? Like, they didn’t hear anything about the gangs or what? I feel like the only adult that cared enough was detective Noh. So glad the gang leader and the former friend were arrested though, but I can’t believe Hyungtae got out in the first place.
Overall, this was a wonderfully written story and the art is just ლ(´ڡ`ლ. I can’t wait for the side stories bc I need to see them be even happier and I need to see them get married maybe adopt pets and be more lovey dovey.
