He isn't homophobic or got a thing for Dane, he actually VERY MUCH loves his wife.. so much that he is desperate for her cancer treatment so while they try to fund the treatment it unfortunately costs TOO much so Ezra teams up with the religious group (that hates dominant alphas, the same kinda group that targets Chase and Keith) they know that Ezra is working with Grayson and has a pretty good relationship with him so they promise Ezra to give him money in return he has to hand them Grayson (apparently dominant alpha sperm is VERY VERY valuable and it sells for tons) Ezra is of course desperate because he doesn't want his wife to die since the cancer is terminal and he loves her very much but in doing so he betrays everyones trust.. an important information is that we later found out (while Dane and Josh rescue Grayson) that the necklace Grayson gave to his daughter costs over 400k$ and can cover the treatment and more (Since Ezra sold all the belongings but it wasn't enough.. he didn't even think to sell the bear/necklace since he thought it was worthless)
In the end Ezra ends in prison to pay for his part in kidnapping Grayson (since Nathanial's a ruthless lawyer i suppose he had a part in putting him in prison too)..
