i’m not one to defend the ML, but i feel like people just simply don’t understand.
it’s valid to question why ezekiel hasn’t mentioned much of what happened, but look at the facts. lizan isn’t in the right mental state at all, as confirmed by polina. she does not have the ability to have deep conversations at the moment. so how could ezekiel have a deep conversation with lizan, apologizing for what he’s done and about the baby they lost? lizan would either lose it or it would just go in one ear and out the other.
i really don’t think he himself has had the time to actually mourn the child because his first priority has always been lizan, and now that she is the ill one, all his attention and energy goes to that. plus, we’ve seen him have poor coping mechanisms before. when him and lizan were together first and when she was gone. he’s also a soldier and what a general? so he has little room for emotional vulnerability. all of this justifies to me why it hasn’t been shown that he’s thought about the baby. i imagine it will come later. and hey, i can be wrong. maybe it will end up like that. or maybe it’s a manhwa adaptation issue.
from the novel bits i’ve read, i think it was definitely better portrayed there. i think it’s also been advertised as a journey of growth and healing for both of them, and i imagine ezekiel having these emotions would be part of that.
