Honestly, I can understand both brothers. I don't think there's really a bad guy here.

Jaeyi has spent his whole life feeling lonely and neglected by the very people who were supposed to take care of him, so I can't blame him for shutting himself off. As for Jiseong constantly taking things from his brother, I think it's probably because he spent so much of his childhood in the hospital that he missed out on so many important years of figuring out what he likes and learning how to navigate social situations. So I don't think he's necessarily trying to steal things that belong to his brother. At least from Jiseong's point of view, he's just doing what he thinks he's supposed to do because he genuinely doesn't know what he likes or wants for himself.

He also seems to think his younger brother hates him, which obviously isn't true. I think all he ever wanted was for them to play together.

The parents definitely didn't handle things well. They should have done more to help the boys work through their issues instead of letting things get this bad. But at the same time, how can we really judge them? Having a seriously ill child can't be easy. It must come with so much anxiety and fear that sometimes you end up losing sight of what's actually happening.

It's easy to sit on the sidelines and say what someone should have done or said, but real life is so much more complicated than that.

I really love how Ideum is a little bit of both brothers. He understands Jaeyi because his own parents neglected him too, but he also understands Jiseong because he's been through illness himself.

I really hope Ideum gets to be the bridge between the two brothers, helping them both heal while also finding a way to heal himself along the way.
