BIG Spoiler for the ending (read at your own risk)

I'M SO FUCKING DISAPPOINTED.

Basically ML is a big dumb dumb who doesn't understand his own feelings and doesn't confess them until the END of the novel. What's worse is he doesn't even say he loves her instead he says he respects her feelings???
I hope the change some stuff for the manhua ;_;

I got the spoiler from NU forum. You can read Rara89's comment >>> https://www.novelupdatesforum.com/threads/to-the-perfect-duke-%EC%99%84%EC%A0%84%EB%AC%B4%EA%B2%B0%ED%95%9C-%EA%B3%B5%EC%9E%91%EB%8B%98%EA%BB%98.196304/

Meh... take these spoilers with a grain of salt, most of the time they're not 100% accurate. For me, personally, I've more of a show-not-tell preference. I'd rather the guy DO acts of love instead of just saying it and not properly acting on it. And he's right, what makes a lasting marriage is respect, not love. The love aspect comes and is felt naturally.

Why not both tho. If your partner despairs and dumbs your ass for this very reason then don't chase after her to not fulfill it.
Like saying ily is the easiest part if they really feel that way.
Also I wish that was the only part I had a problem with my dude ╥﹏╥

I think that depends on how it's presented in comic form? There's definitely readers POV bias, so how the scenario plays out is important. I'm giving it the benefit of the doubt for now because I want to see how it plays out.

In some cultures (eg. East Asian) , directly saying "I love you" is quite rare (and the author is Korean). But what if in the story's setting, it's also quite rare amongst ML's family or society to say outloud those words? Or he could've never learned how to receive or express them in the first place.
Or what if regardless of words, he made it so painfully obvious to her that he cares for her, but FL is still too dense to notice, because his love language isn't thru words at all. Or what if she did notice, but still wanted to hear those words from him regardless of where he's emotionally at. IDK there's so many different paths to get to the same ending.

In Japan, there are multiple ways to say I Love You, and each represents a different weight.
Sukidesu is sometimes translated to "I like you/I love you" in a manner that doesn't cause social pressure for the other party. Daisuki is "I like you/love you very much", just a gradual step above. Koishiteiru is expressed as "I love you" but with yearning. And Aishiteiru is "I love you", with the connotation of weight equivalent to saying they will love you and only love you until death, is so rare, it's only ever heard in jdramas.

Like, when I started dating my lover, they were always nagging me to tell them I love them, but for me it was too soon? Even though I knew they were just feeling anxious about not getting affirmation.
In my culture, romantic affirmation is also rare, so giving or receiving it verbally also feels awkward for me. I won't say it until I'm 100% sure I mean it, and it has to be in seriousness.
I think BOTH party of a relationship deserves to reach their own conclusion in a timely manner. Just because that's what the FL wants, doesn't mean it's fair for the ML. I don't necessarily want to root for that type of means to an end.

I do hope they implement things better. At the end of the day it's a matter of taste. ... ...

But I have to say it's the END of a romance novel if he needs time just give us a time skip. Where is my satisfactory ending??? Where is my dopamine??

Also I've read many many Chinese, Korean romance novels and they don't have this problem where it ends with
    :ily ⁄(⁄ ⁄·⁄ω⁄·⁄ ⁄)⁄
:i respect your feelings (● ̄(エ) ̄●) stay with me btw. No-no don't run away. Here is a smooch and a hug is that not enough?

Saying it's culture doesn't satisfy me personally. That's just makes it feel 2 dimensional. Character development hello??
