Most BL handwave away the tops monstrous behavior with at most an I halfwitted apology but usual just the bottom being to spineless to leave him.
I really enjoy the Della is very aware of how fucked up his mentality and actions are. It grounds the story and gives the mc’s individual agency that’s increasingly compelling.
