No gay marriage in that country, so the workaround to "become family" is adoption

Not 100% sure but I believe because gay marriage isn’t legal in Korea sometimes couples adopt each other

Like a parent? Even tho they are almost the same age?

There is no same sex marriage in Korea, but adult adoption is quite common (like in Japan). When Haebom officially adopt Ho as his "son", it's the closes thing to marriage they can do with the current Korean law.

Mr. Kwon adopted Ho since same-sex marriage isn't legal in South Korea, it's their own way of marriage. So now legally they are a family.

Really? But isn't it weird if they are a couple being legally a parent/child?

Everyone here was slightly wrong. Mr. Kwon didn't become his actual parent, Ho simply entered his register. Which makes them legally a family, but it doesn't mean Ho HAS to become his son for it to work. Just family. However, because it IS an adoption and most people associated with parents and children that's why Ho used 'daddy' at the end lol

Yeah, but unfortunately it's one of the best options for them to be a family legally and they need that legal safeguard, especially in cases of medical emergency.
