Mc - Is a super pretty boy, with a very shitty luck. Dad abandoned him and his mom when their company went under. His mom left him for another guy and used his name for a 280 million debt. Then he got picked up by a literal psycho. He might be physically weak, but he is smart, mentally strong, and can read the room, which he uses to read Ml's mood.
Mc - He is very very obsessed with Mc as according to him, Mc is the prettiest being he ever saw. He sees him as pretty when he's happy, sad, crying, mad, beat up. He even knows how many times Mc brushes his teeth or how he takes a bath. He never gets tired of watching him even through cameras.
In the novel, Ml is a diagnosed psychopath. Not an excuse but an explanation of his behavior. His voyeourism is to observe people's emotions and behavior as he's unable to feel those. He appears normal because he was heavily trained to behave like a human being.
He became this way because At 10 years old, he fell from the 3rd floor and injured his pre-frontal lobe as he was trying to save his beloved pet kitten. The emotion loving and cherishing small creatures became warped. Even his logic got thrown out of the window. He stopped feeling any emotions. When his dad complained that the kitten should be let go because it was a bother, he had a solution; if he killed the kitty and got it taxidermied, they would be together forever and it won't bother his dad. He strangled the kitten he tried to save. His dad liked this version of him while his mom fainted.
If you noticed, he has a cruel and a loving side. This was adapted from his dad, who taught him all the cruel behavior and his mom constantly trying to bring her sweet boy back. He feels nothing whether his actions are cruel or sweet.
He is aware of his condition and he had therapies/ medications but that did nothing. Reading his therapy sessions, it was ROUGH. He never felt sad, remorseful, angry, love, and his way of "cherishing" was to kill and have the pet/person taxidermied so they would be preserved in that moment forever. He also strangles Heesu from time to time whenever he does cruel things to others because he doesn't want Heesu to feel afraid of him (boy you already did that). However, he started feeling things again with Heesu. Even his therapist noted this. In his mind, what he's doing to Heesu was protection and taming. He could never put himself on Heesu's shoes and never understood why he was so afraid. He also knew he r*ped Heesu and he even questioned why Heesu wasn't mad. But he never feels sorry. It took a doctor to literally tell him to listen to Heesu when he says it hurts before he can process that Heesu did get hurt. Beomjun notes that he needed people to explains complex emotions to him because he'll never understand it. He also intended to kill Heesu later and stuff him.

As their set up continued, Heesu became more and more dependent to Ml. Before, he planned to feign obedience and then escape. But later, he became used to the punishment-reward system and began adapting/giving up. I can somehow get him. He was starved for affection, always beaten for no reason, always hungry, no home. So he clings to whatever kindness thrown. His no. 1 priority is survival but against a manipulator/ psychopath, all he can do is yield. He even asks for punishments later when he realizes he made Ml mad. Ml then allows him to go out with him to eat, shop, etc. One time, Ml used this as a test to see if Heesu would run away but Heesu was afraid to do it. What if he gets caught and punished? Where would he go when he has debt? He reasoned that way and decided to stay put. He gets harassed but saved by the Ml and later, Ml killed the guy harassing him. In his mind, only he was allowed to hurt and cherish Heesu.
They also go abroad in Hongkong, then Singapore. Heesu gets lost and Ml mistakenly thinks he ran away. He thinks all sorts of cruel stuff to do with Heesu - cut his ankles, gouge his eyes once he catches him so he can't run away. He also feels anxiety, fear and rage for the first time, then relief after discovering Heesu was just lost.
He never really took his budding feelings seriously. Until one night while he was stroking Heesu's hair, he realized he treasured him more than anything and tried to strangle him, to preserve his appearance once he died, but he couldn't do it. Heesu was awake that night and took it as him finally losing interest and deciding to kill him, and so he decides to escape with Ml's sister's help. Ml discovers this and immediately gathers people to search for him and even ordered to get a taxidermist ready.
Heesu gets caught and beaten up by Ml's rival gang. Ml arrives in time and all the anger and resentment towards Heesu disappeared when he saw his condition. He punishes the rivals freely then breaks Heesu's ankles as punishment and lets him heal at home. He realizes he can never kill Heesu because if he dies, he can't greet him anymore, his skin will become cold, they can never talk/go places, and he won't see the emotions on his face. He doesn't want that. He wants Heesu by his side, alive and well. Ml doesn't know if it's love, but for Heesu, his actions tell him that Ml loves him. I actually agree with Heesu on this one. He's very good on reading other people's emotions especially Ml's. So I won't say he's delusional. Though Ml is a psychopath so the way he presents his feelings is never normal and he's still willing to hurt Heesu if he's disobedient. Heesu accepts all of this and they are happy together. I was hesistant to accept his judgement because maybe it was Stockholm, but realized I was wrong when I read the bonus stories.
The bonus stories are him and Heesu becoming more loving, officially recognizing their feelings, and Heesu matching his freak. LITERALLY. Heesu didn't lose his spark. He became more cheerful and even fights back (with words) against Ml and Beomjun. He's very willing and enjoys being intimate with Ml even when Ml bullies him and fully accepts Ml's cruel and loving side. He even provocatively convinces Ml to tattoo his name on his body. Like woah. Also, whatever Heesu wanted, he got. Ml even lets him study in a University. Now I hate to say this, but Heesu is dumb as fuck in academics. He got 3 tutors to give up including Beomjun. So he got to a university via Ml's school donation and he has his own bodyguard (disguised as his classmate). He also has his own car and driver so he won't commute.
The bonus also contains some stories about how Beomjun likes to tease/ make fun of him. I haven't read the omegaverse Au yet.
