Usually I'm kinda idk annoyed by the "oh this lil girl is so cute, everyone loves her, family dynamics become better because of her" because it's usually just so crudely done, and the kids are just like cardboard cutouts and also I'm a bitter cynical bitch, but BOY is it just so sweet and heartwarming here and Rubi is so genuinely adorable, it's for real impossible not to love her as a reader and all the love she gets from characters is justified as well
