Maybe cause she grew up in an environment where that’s how she can survive? Varkas ain’t doing anything to showhe cares with the nonchalant monotone attitude he got while also still actively following the sisters orders and wants. THALIA deserves better

No she doesn't. She should unlearn her trauma bruh. Trauma doesn't give her excuse to do whatever she wants including hurting innocent people. And in the novel she gets worse. Varkas is nonchalant because he is just doing his job which is protecting the siblings. It is not his fault that Thalia's obsessed ass got attached to him and started expecting some love story

How the fuck do you unlearn trauma while going through trauma??? You don't just change because you get older. You have to be put in an environment where you get the chance to work through your trauma. Thalia STILL in survival mode. U sound ignorant and victim blamey. Trauma doesn't give her an excuse but you cant act like she's scum if the earth for not "unlearning" the horrific abuse she went though and is still going through.

How is she supposed to unlearn trauma when she is still actively enduring it? She’s been in a constant state of fight or flight her entire life and it hasn’t stopped for a moment, not even now.

Bruh y'all can like her without defending all the shitty things she does just because she has childhood trauma doesn't excuse everything she does bro. It's like defending shitty men by saying "h-he's not a red flag he's a broken child !" stop glazing her

Not glazing her, obviously her resorting to violence is wrong. I’m simply explaining that it’s difficult for someone to work on their trauma and triggers when they’re still actively enduring them. This is simply a story to me, not a reflection of our moral compass.

You’re making it sound like trauma that happened years ago. When she literally just had a panic attack an episode ago because of something that happened two episodes ago. Like this isn’t old trauma that she “just needs to get over” these are continuous traumatic experiences that are happening to her on the daily. Let’s assume (because I forgot if they mention her age) that she is like 18 years old and you need her to work through 18 years of trauma in a couple episodes??? That doesn’t even make sense. Before she can process something old, something new to her happens. No one is glazing her in these comments everyone makes a valid point that her violence is not the right answer but instead the only answer she knows. And imagine in all those years of everyone even your own mother treating you like you’re nothing someone comes along and treats you like a human being, only to turn around and act like you’ve never meant anything at all. Of course she s going to have a complicated relationship with him in comparison with the people that started being mean to her from the get go. But I suppose if this doesn’t explain anything to you, you can just stay ignorant. Empathy is not easy for some of you.
