Considering how badly she rejected him in the past, i understand why she is hesitant to confess. It’s hard confessing to friends but she has it even more stressful because their mothers are friends, go to the same university, AND she’s already rejected him in the past. Granted they were young and he likely still likes her but it still weighs heavy on both of them seeing she’s guilt driven and he became a gym rat.
