This is why i dont like "bdsm" manhwas that don't showit properly :(. To answer ur question, everything that happens between the involved ppl are/should be consensual. There might be discussion before they "play" or they're in an established rltnship with set of thingd that are okay, kind-of-okay and not-okay to do. The hurting/beating is more on the SadoMasochism side, but what it does is it gives the ppl involved some form of release by giving/receiving pain. All of this should be consesual tho :(

OR SO I THOUGHT UP UNTIL RECENTLY idk i was reading a story and i randomly got awakened. i’ve had something traumatic happen to me in the past and it has and still is really messing with me, so to be in a situation where i have completely control and can have power is appealing to me.
i think bdsm and kinks can stem from trauma or a desire for something you don’t typically have in your everyday life. like a really simple example can be someone who is a boss at work has to be super strict and dominant at work, so in bed they might want to let go of all control and submit.
