not that i don't want maxi and riftan together, but he truly takes away her autonomy so often its cruel. i understand where his own traumas are to blame for his actions but honestly? maxi deserves better. someone who would not hinder her potential, instead encouraging her to find it. someone who allows her AUTONOMY, BECAUSE SHE IS A HUMAN BEING WITH THOUGHTS AND FEELINGS OF HER OWN RIFTAN. it was less scathing before he knew of the abuse and horrors she faced in her life before, but continuing to act that way after he finds out??? PMO, idk gonna go read the novel so i feel less empty inside & hopefully this dude fixes up before i fully start to hate him
