Tbh I don’t think the author is that great at sex scenes, I had the same vibe with their other works. I do like it rough lol but even then — it’s just freaking enough for me
To be fair shutline writer is actually insane, they know what gay men are actually like and use it to write a very well executed mutually obsessed masc 4 masc dynamic that is very difficult to find in any BL. They are genuine freaks for each other and overwhelming attracted from the get go despite not trusting each other at that point. From there shutline writes their story as slowly gaining trust in a setting where trusting anyone can be difficult, and it manages to stick the landing of writing a good story with a great romance too.
I think Hanse is also good at smut but their writing is lacking, while red candy eventually gets really yearning heavy (positive) the fact that enzo and rian’s relationship has rape as an initial part of it makes their dynamic decisively less compelling .

Idk if it's just me, but their chemistry in bed kinda lacking they don't even talk while doing it. Their dynamics outside the bed is better like bickering and whatnot. I just expected that they'll be like that as well in bed. And as for someone who always read, I like my bottom saying he feels good cause I don't trust tops
