I love my angsty, emotional-catharsis slop (said affectionately), but only if the MC is the pookie. I don't care about top or bottom, but the majority of the narrative has to come from the schmuck holding the short end of the stick in the relationship. I've tried reading the reverse and watching an asshole MC repeatedly be a dick to their love interest is just not appealing to me.
