Also, this is one of the only times I can feasibly overlook the rape as its something Dante's forced into to keep his father's trust and there's possible implications that because they had such a sexual relationship, Gino understands that this rape was not genuine. That doesn't make it okay.
But in the overall sense both of them were harmed in some way by this act. Dante will spend the rest of his life loving Gino genuinely to make up for the harm he caused him and with probably contempt for his father because he made him do this knowing he'd hate it, and Gino will likely be haunted by that day, with a sense of untrust in his partner because of the fake death and siding with an enemy, even if it was to protect Gino. Overall, the rape scene is a plot point that again, could have been implied and skipped over without actually showing it, you could give Gino and Dante the same revelations afterwards and it would still hold the same effect, hence why the scene being actually shown wasn't at all necessary.
The biggest problem for me is not taking it seriously.
I wish Dante feels guilt for the rest of his life and Gino feels scared the next time Dante comes close to him. I wish more was shown on the impact does to even this mafia men. The man who sold saw Gino being ed being disgusted and horrified. Atleast then the would be justified in my opinion.
But that's not romantic.
BL authors can't seem to think except for how to add more sex scenes.
It scares me that most of these authors r women but don't see men being ed as serious enough for them to pause and think.
I guess it's also because rape culture is inherently still an issue. We're living in a time when people are still begging to have rape be taken more seriously, so while it infuriates me, it doesn't surprise me that authors are STILL doing the same tricks. For this story specifically, I'm somehow able to keep reading because of the specific circumstance of the rape but it's so nauseating to keep doing this same "will it won't it?" with every manga I read and just pray there's no rape, WHICH I ASK NOW AND SOME PEOPLE STILL DO NOT KNOW WHAT COUNTS AS SUCH, so I'll sometimes still get surprised even after checking. We have to do better.

Y'know, I found this on MRM and I KNEW I had seen the cover to this before when I read Volume 1 and I kept asking myself how I missed reading this cause V1 is so peak and even the plot twist got my ass good. But then I get to V2....Yeah, okay, lemme just pause real quick to explain my issue here:
Yes, this is a mafia based plot. There are going to be bad things like this happening, I expect even worse from real mafias and this is no different. What DOESN'T sit right with me, is when the authors decide to showthe rape. It is incredibly uncomfortable and it's not needed at all. I am not a victim, but I have spent so much time arguing on platforms about this cause so many people just brush over this stuff, and it pisses me off.
Rape is not a plot point, its not cute or sexy to show. You are showing someone's autonomy being ripped from them and people always tell me to skip a story because it's " obvious " or "You should just get over it" I will be so fr, there is never a warning. Until I came over here from MRM, I got not one warning about what was about to happen. The fact that people sit up here, with shit like this and say "well, it fits the plot" you can imply shit, you did not have to showit. You did that because of you like sexualizing rape. Point blank period. Stop fucking fetishizing it, it is beyond disgusting to me that we're still doing this.
