Let me start with saying I’ve been reading manga since ‘04 and I love Villainess stories. So I’ve read A LOT of questionable sloppy trash and I think it’s important for the ecosystem. However, that doesn’t mean you have to like it. I understand why people have enjoyed this ongoing story and they are very valid. And those that criticize it have equally compelling points (I.e the slavery). So that being said, if you enjoy long soap operas this is the story for you.
DO READ THIS: if you like historical fantasy, have time on your hands (took me a week to read), like semi-revenge, have recently divorced your husband, like the puppy type ML, enjoy drama, and just watched the Kdrama & wanted more.
DONT READ THIS: if you have other historical fantasy on your tbr, need the FMC to go through a character arc, dislike catty drama, want smut, are sensitive about rape/slavery/ power imbalance, abortions, pregnancy, child abuse and murder, death, and slurs.

I wouldn’t reread this. But I had nothing else to read on fall vacation and it was mindlessly entertaining and not complicated enough so I could easily be distracted by my family constantly and keep up.
