I think the story is incredible in how the world is unforgiving and cruel, people only live to serve themselves, a pie from the cake is simply someone else’s share halved. And I assume the author must’ve seen such cruelty very vividly to paint such a terrifying picture of being pushed beyond human limits. This is the story of a survivor, who tethered on the edge of life and death, with endless pain and is still living with the scars and healing. Many times there might be senses that they don’t deserve to live as humans anymore, but in truth nobody is more human than someone simply suffering and trying to survive.
