Katagiri you damn BASTARD you!? Where's the damn ring you've been saying since the end of hanker and the convo you had with Hasegawa during off limits? The mental exhaustion I had with him was dying down until the end "off limits" but anyway....
I teared up during the umbrella scene, oh Hasegawa… the pain and anxiety you're experiencing, conveyed through subtext, was the cherry on top. Especially with Katagiri being the one who ended up holding the umbrella. The way I read it, he's protecting Hasegawa in his own way
Tsubame Sato loves using umbrellas and rain to depict the leads' emotional states, and GAPS has noticeably more of it than the other series, which I love
I love slow-burn romance, and the back and forth in GAPS is exceptional. Watching Katagiri's past chase him down, with Hasegawa as spectating, was also entertaining. Like he said, promises are better put in physical form, and Katagiri's promises to Hasegawa are being tested by his past (the women that somehow keep popping up every chapter in volume 6 and his short-tempered proxy, Namba)
A few things are hard to change at this stage (imho), one being Katagiri's personality. Realistically, you can't change a man, especially one like Katagiri. So I hope the next installment shows him like he was in hanker & off limits (quite good character progression).
I love GAPS and Hasegawa so much, and I'm dying to talk with fellow GAPS lovers
