he is NOT right where he wants to be. he feels responsible for ilay. he doesnt want to be there but he feels he has to. we’ve all seen what ilay is capable of and HAS already done without taeil by his side. hes murdered people, he’s gone beserk, he bombed an entire city, there are no lengths he wouldnt go to get taeil back. and to prevent that, taeil fears he needs to stay by ilay’s side. sure, in the novels, taeui is more comfortable staying by ilay’s side and there are times where you can tell, hes happy to stay by him, but thats more than 5 years into the future. right now, in the present and in the years to come, he is not where he wants to be. and yes, i am the biggest taeui defender until the day that i die and i will not stand for misinformation on my baby
