I will repost this once in a while, for new ones here that might be confused about the plot or wants a refresher. I wrote this myself. Whew! This is super long though still hope this helps!
SEASON 1
In this story, the drug trade follows: Royal Raider Casino of Ross is the legal front Mercifuls - where Jake "works" - handles mid‑tier distribution Mass - provides enforcement and street sales.
Story started off as Jake- a gang member meets Shin - a street mechanic. Shin attempts to scam Jake by sabotaging his car. Jake catches him, prompting Shin to offer sexual favor to settle the score, expecting a one-time encounter, but Jake has other plans.
The following day, Jake contacted Shin to pick him up from one of Jakes's illegal dealings. Although Shin did that job, he said he can't continue because he doesn't kill and he's now worried his face was exposed. And he was right, because other gang members showcuriosity in Shin asking Jake who 'his new boy' is, Jake killed them on the spot. Later Shin is abducted, drugged, and almost raped. Jake arrives and kills the attacker.
Because of this, Jake then made a deal for Shin to be his sexual partner and personal mechanic/errand boy/driver. In exchange for 'protection' and a stable job in a Lump Spark garage.
Despite this, mutual suspicion lingers. Shin asks his hacker friend, Hosung, to investigate the true extent of Jake’s syndicate ties, while Jake keeps tabs on Shin.
Shin then meets billionaire Wilde from Royal Raider Casino, who orders cars for a gala.
Shin and the garage crew attends the gala, unaware Jake is there on his own mission. Casino deputy manager Ross Trautvein pursues Shin and invites him to his room, but Jake intervenes disguised as a police officer. That night Jake and Shin slept together instead; Jake’s possessiveness emerges, repeatedly warning Shin not to sleep with anyone else, and Shin agrees to be exclusive.
Ross grows more intrigued and suspicious of Shin and the “officer,” and orders background checks. He also brings a contract to Lump Spark—mostly as an excuse to get closer to Shin.
Then one day, Shin by chance found his long-lost foster brother Gren and took him in.
Through Hosung, Shin learns Ross involvement in drug trade, and that Gren was just out of prison and works for Mass in transporting the smuggled drugs. Determined to save his brother, Shin drives straight to Gren’s place to stop him. But Izmel, who we later learn works for Jake, deliberately crashes Shin’s car to blockhim from getting there.
Meanwhile, Jake ambushes the Mass drug shipment, disabling rather than killing the crew to secure a witness against Ross—sparing Gren on purpose for Shin. Believing everyone was subdued, Jake stepped away from the scene.
By now it’s clear Jake is deviating from the mission to protect Shin. Both his casino infiltration and delivery bust have been compromised for him
That ends Season 1.
SEASON 2
Jake spared the crew and securing one member to testify against Ross. This is a mistake coz Jake didn't know Gren faked unconsciousness and heard everything, he got terrified the witness will testify and he'll be back in prison again, so he kills all the members.
Jake meets Shin in Gren's apartment, but Gren shows up and shoots Jake. Shin lets Gren escape, then accompanies Jake to his place to treat the gunshot wound.
Shin stays by Jake's side not just out of concern, but to track Jake's next move and persuade him to spare Gren.
A flashback reveals the truth: Jake is an undercover CIA agent, not a gangster. Caesar works at Lump Spark as part of the mission because criminals use the garage to modify vehicles for shipments, and to keep an eye on Shin too.
Important to note: Shin still fully believes Jake is a gangster. Jake’s real identity have only been revealed to the readers.
Back in the present: Gren's rash decision destroyed Jake’s plan to secure a witness against Ross and started a war within the gang because now the groups were asking who betrayed who.
Bounties are placed on Gren. Ross captured him, but Jake & Izmel intercept posing as police; Ross flees. Jake lets Gren “escape” as live bait to draw Ross out, and for Shin’s sake.
Furious, Ross calls Shin to deliver the car he asked to be repaired, then demands sex. Shin refused and left Ross with a punch on his nose.
When he steps outside, Jake is already waiting. They drive back to Shin’s apartment. He confirms Gren is safe for now, but this is as far as he can protect him. Jake also admits his hideout was compromised back when Shin was nursing his wounds, prompting Shin to let Jake move into his apartment.
Meanwhile, Ross retaliates against Shin’s rejection by abruptly pulling his contracts and clients from Lump Spark, tanking the garage's income. Desperate to keep business afloat, the crew resorts to junkyards for spare parts. Shin confronts Ross to demand he leave the garage alone, but Ross refuses. While he was there, Shin overheard Ross and his assistant talking about Senator Connor, and he realized this situation was far bigger than he’d imagined.
He met up with Jake to share what he’d learned.
**This is Chapter 55, and it marks a clear turning point in their relationship.
Hearing that a powerful politician is involved, Shin is genuinely worried for Jake. He even tells him that if the gang life ever becomes too much to bear, Jake can come to him. Jake asks what he’d do for him and Shin answers simply, "he’d make sure Jake never gets caught whether by the police or by the gang".
Everything shifts here coz up until now, it's Jake protecting Shin, now it's Shin wanting to protect Jake.
Jake was surprised and touched. That night, he hugged Shin to sleep.
Meanwhile, CIA and Jake plan another bust. This time Jake will pose working for Mass, not for Mercifuls (he wore a mask to not be recognized) they met in a junkyard to meet Ross’s crew for the exchange. To his shock, Shin is there too, looking for scrap parts.
Mass’s men recognize him as Jake’s boy and assume he’s a Mercifuls spy setting them up. Jake has to save Shin. Mission compromised for the 3rd time because of Shin.
This ends Season 2.
SEASON 3
Shin figures it out that Jake isn’t just a gang member, he’s undercover. Upset that he's been lied to, they end up back at Shin’s place. Jake says he means no harm and only wants to protect him. Warned that if Shin walks away now, he can’t keep him safe.
Shin chooses to leave anyway.
Then a direct flashback details Shin’s upbringing after being adopted into a neglectful household run by a drug-addicted couple who took in foster children purely to collect government subsidy checks.
It also reveals the tragedy of his foster brother, Henry. Shin was present when Henry died, unable to do anything to save him, which explains why he avoids guns and detests violence and drug culture.
Back to the present: Gren checks into rehab. Shin resigns from the garage to get away from Jake. Jake is pulled out of the mission for too many missteps.
Convinced he was double-crossed by Jake and the Mercifuls, Ross actively hunts for Jake, Shin, and Gren. Knowing Shin is a prime target, Jake sets up surveillance on Shin’s room to protect him.
Then, Jake secretly uses Hosung to deliver solid proof of his real identity and background to Shin... a subtle confession designed to help Shin understand who he truly is.
After leaving rehab, Gren reunites with Shin, but Ross captures them, holding them hostage in a warehouse. During the confrontation, Gren is fatally shot. Shin nearly loses control and tries to kill Ross, but Gren talks him down to keep Shin from ruining his life. He lets Ross and his assistant escape.
Shin had no choice but calls Jake for help. Due to massive blood loss and the impossibility of taking Gren to a public hospital without alerting Ross's network, Gren dies.
Jake finally told him the truth from his mouth what his mission is. Shin and Jake reconciled.
Meanwhile, CIA chief Rolfe is nearly removed from the operation too. To salvage her standing, she approves one final bust led by Jake. He agrees. Ross has to be taken down completely, or Shin will never be safe. Shin convinces Jake to let him join, to avenge his brother.
The mission succeeds: The drug trade dismantled with Benille killed and Ross captured with solid evidence. Shin and Jake are both shot but Shin in critical condition, but they survive.
Both Jake and Shin take hits during the violent shootout, with Shin sustaining critical injuries. After surviving the crossfire, Jake openly confesses his love... he realized he really changed because of Shin and he's willing to compromise everything for him.... that a lot of missions from the start went wrong because he wanted to protect Shin.
Rolfe, Caesar, and Izmel warned him about him about this. The old Jake would’ve walked away from Shin.
Instead, he kept Shin by his side to shield him.
Basically, Jake started to tread carefully between mission and obsession/love, until the line separating the two blurred.
