I think it just needed to condense their issues down more and give them more time instead of the last 4 chapters to tie it together - for them to be together. It should’ve been first 30 chapters of conflict (vendetta, revenge, ex appearance, and realizations) and last 30 of resolution and fluff between them.
Unlike others, I actually don’t hate the ML as much (doesn’t mean he isn’t a bitch) and I think the MC got his karma in the form of his first boyfriend for what happened in HS, as he said himself he’s not a saint but he also didn’t deserve what happened with him and the ML.
I think there was definitely complicated feelings the ML has about the MC, but again it stemmed from a crush that transformed into… something. Idk what to call it. But really it could’ve been so much quicker to resolve it. MC also really needed to unpack what happened in HS and with his ex, but it’s way too late into the story when they do this.
And overall the biggest issue is that it does these things with the ML to make u dislike him - from being rough, to being in denial, to being rude, to hurting our MC - and then by the time the MC does something to step away and he goes crazy over it THIS STORY DOES MOTHIMG REALLY TO MAKE U THINK HE REDEEMED HIMSELF.
It fails to do the “if you love something let it go” and it is ultimately the MC who chooses to get with him, but again as a reader it’s just unsatisfying that there’s no proper time to redeem the ML after his entire crashout.
Anyway, it was fine. I HATED the fucking ex, can’t believe he had that POS for his first time and first boyfriend but alas it is the tragic fate of BL bottoms to never have a decent first ex. I disliked the mc initial, he worked his way into LIKED tho. And I’m honestly INDIFFERENT to the ML, leaning more towards disliked even at the end. You can’t just say he changed and then maybe showa panel or so of it. If you want to waste your time with this story go ahead - it’s fine.
