Finally got around to finishing this

Another series I lost track off after bato went under, I finally found it again. I didn't read from the beginning, just picked up from where I left off, so I probably forgot a few details.

That said, I didn't expect things to end so simply. I actually kind of have to chuckle that through the story narrative of Tsumin talking to "Gramps", we got a quick summary of how things ended instead of of having some chapters explaining things.

But it just feels off to me. Like, I'm glad Eli and Valtran are happy together, but a lot people died for their sakes, and they're just frolicking in the water, lol.

But seriously, a lot of characters just conveniently were working for a greater purpose that involved sacrificing their lives. It was starting to lose its emotional impact for me. I think the only character I felt bad for dying was Sigop.

(and I remember thinking there was a some love triangle between him, Ichigar and Eli in the first half. The way the story changed to be way beyond just that premise was pretty remarkable imo)

I think truly, as soon as Eli tried killing Ichigar, the story sped up.

The thing about Ichigar knowing Eli was his assassin since the beginning should be surprising, but it didn't surprise me at all. It's almost a cliche he just knew everything tbh

Also: Ichigar had a wife and kid??? We only saw them once? Like what??? I'm so confused by their lack of presence.

His sister poisoning Eli never got mentioned again. Eli's twin brother eating his mom just, no biggie I guess?

His brother's personality shifted so often that I actually don't get why he acted viciously in the beginning... Drama I guess, heh

That said, I don't hate the story. I think there's an interesting world here and the characters were pretty varied in their designs. I appreciate how fleshed out the supporting cast was. I just wished there was more lore explained about stuff in the second half I guess.
